Con Dao
This archipelago lies remote off the coast of South Vietnam and attracts far fewer tourists than the famous beaches. There are no crowds, no pushing, just the sea and greenery. You can take a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao or arrive by ferry.

Hong Van Beach
On Co To, an island in the north, lies this beach where you are truly alone. There are no sun loungers and no restaurants with menus in ten languages. You swim and sit in the sand, and that is all you need.
Ben Tre
The canals around Ben Tre are green, quiet, and much less busy than the Mekong tours near Can Tho. Book a day trip with Mango Cruises: they work with local boatmen, and it feels less commercialised. You sail slowly between mango and coconut trees.
Quiet villages in the Mekong Delta
Instead of the fixed group tours, you can arrange things directly with boat owners in delta villages. You decide the pace, the route and where you stop. This way you see how people truly live there, not the tourist version.
Seaside Bungalow Hostel
Near Hoi An is this small inn with a view of the sea. It is a quiet address where you escape the bustle of the old town, but it is still close enough to visit when you feel like it. It is family-run, with no party culture.
